Dhanteras is the first day of diwali festival celebration. It is also called dhantrayodashi and dhanvantri triodasi, dhanvantri jayanti pooja, and yamadeep. This year 1st November 2013 will be celebrated as Dhanteras Puja Day. On this day people to perform Lakshmi Puja - Goddess of wealth and buy precious things with a conviction that it will bring wealth (money). The puja starts after sunset and approximately lasts for 2 hours. Some people decorate their houses with coloring candles, designer diya’s, and flowers to make it more beautiful.
